Installing eco-friendly air source heat pumps is what we do. It’s better for you because it’s more cost-effective and it’s a great way of moving to a renewable energy source in order to do your bit to contribute to a greener way of living.
This being said, we understand that there are a number of reasons why you may not be in the market for a renewable energy option right now. It could be that the timing’s not right for you to make the switch, or that your current home isn’t suitable for a heat pump – and that’s okay!
With this in mind – and in a bid to ensure that we’re assisting you in any way we can – we also offer a comprehensive service focused on ensuring that your gas and/or oil boilers are running as efficiently and reliably as possible.
Why should I get my boiler serviced?
There are actually a whole host of reasons why boiler servicing is so important, but in short:
It’ll keep you safe: This is especially the case with gas boilers, from which a leak can be incredibly dangerous. Unchecked gas appliances could be leaking carbon monoxide which can cause poisoning. You can’t see it, taste it or smell it, but it can kill quickly and without warning, which is why every house with a gas boiler should have a carbon monoxide detector. Although an alarm will alert you to carbon monoxide in your home, it is by no means a substitute for having an annual gas safety check and regular servicing by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
It could save you money: The more efficient your boiler is, the less it costs to run. Getting a regular service done also means picking up on issues before they come to the forefront. A bit like the mechanic telling you that you’re going to need a new tyre in 3 months’ time when they do your MOT. Knowing about a potentially illegal tread on your tyre before it happens is pretty important – and so is knowing that your boiler is on its way out before it actually gives up on you!
It’s a legal requirement: So, this isn’t true for everyone, but if you’re a landlord, it is a legal requirement for you to get your boiler serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Since 1st October 2015, UK landlords have also been required by law to install working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in all “high risk rooms” in rented properties, such as those where oil-fired and solid fuel heating and cooking appliances are installed. We’re also able to fit these alarms for you, at a low cost, as part of your boiler service.
It’ll keep your warranty valid: Most boiler warranties stipulate regular servicing as a caveat for maintaining an active warranty. And, of course, the longer the warranty is valid, the longer you’re protected.
Can’t I just do the service myself?
Are you a Gas Safe registered engineer? Yep? Perfect – then you absolutely can!
Unfortunately, if you’re not, then you’ll need to get the experts in to help. Conveniently, we happen to be the right people for the job.
All our gas work is recorded under the Gas Safe scheme (previously known as Corgi registered) and our oil work is recorded under the OFTEC scheme. Our engineers are Gas Safe registered so you can be sure that you and your family are in safe hands.

How often should I get my boiler serviced?
We’d recommend annually but this will vary depending on its usage.
